Will Ospreay is the new International Champion. The great in-ring worker went on to beat Roderick Strong and countered the assistance from his mates to become the champion on AEW Double or Nothing. It was a good match with both wrestlers giving their everything. One probably expected Will to be the eventual winner, as it turned out. But the way match panned out, not many were sure.
The match had an even contest as both the wrestlers threw shots at each other. Neither of then were willing to give up. Strong had a backup as his mates came for a bit of assistance. Will's neck was in trouble. But he did not give up. Roderick tried everything to take out his opponent. Used the belt to trouble the chest area of the English.
However, Ospreay was determined as ever. The duo exchanged blows and there were some athletic moves. The crowd was invested in the match and wanted Will to win. Their wishes became true as Ospreay got closer to a win. He delivered Storm Breaker and pinned Strong. There was no way the champion was kicking out at that point. And he didn't.
Will Ospreay hopes to be a workhorse champion
The celebrations of the new champion continued in the backstage where he cut a promo. Will sat on a stair and remembered his journey from NJPW to AEW. He claimed himself to be a workhorse champion and pointed out some of the biggest names in the roster. Ospreay claimed that he is a workhorse like PAC, Jon Moxley, Rey Fenix, and several others including Strong himself.
Will regarded Roderick as a legend himself but was sad at the bad antics he deployed to defend the title. Ospreay claimed that he would try his best to make the International title a worthy one. In the next few weeks, the future of the title will be decided. But this result was not even doubtful given the way Will had carried himself in the feud till this point in time.
