Since Ethan Page's unexpected WWE NXT debut, Williams and Page have had many problems. However, the actual tipping point came when Page won Williams' NXT Championship without pinning Williams in the Fatal 4-Way match. As a result, there was a main event matchup for the new NXT Championship in the CW debut, and both competitors had given their best to win the title. After keeping his word and calling the bout to a middle-of-the-ring end, CM Punk was able to give Page a GTS and eventually raise Williams' hand in triumph as the new NXT Champion.
Ethan Page would be the first to confront Punk following a two-count, but Punk persisted in calling it fairly. Following a two-count for Williams, Page attempted a cover but was again counted for striking Williams in the face with a boot. Punk attempted to talk Williams off the chasing of Page after Williams knocked him to the ground, but Williams persisted and shoved Page into the LED board, making it flicker. Page hurled Williams through the barricade, sending me both tumbling to the ground.
Trick Williams stepped back in the ring and then landed a powerful knee strike on Page, prompting him to collapse on top of Williams and almost replicate his previous Title triumph. Before anything could happen, Williams was able to kick out, and Punk who would inspire both men to get back up and continue the bout. They began slugging it out when Page kicked Williams, and Williams countered with an uppercut and a running slam.
Trick Williams becomes NXT Champion
Page was kicked out before three counts, but Williams went for the finisher and made it. Page took advantage of Williams's failed Trick Shot by landing a knee strike and covering, but Williams was still out before three. Page grabbed Williams and hit the GTS to mock CM Punk. Page tried for the cover, but Punk teased him with the two count and Williams got out. Page attempted to land an Ego's Edge, and Williams managed to break free and land a Trick Shot into a cover. Williams won the match and became the NXT Champion for the second time after Punk counted.
