WATCH: Sammy Guevara suffer from injury before AEW Dynamite match

Today was important for AEW since they revealed a new TV partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery. A sizable TBS 5th anniversary special came after this. However, it seems that they had an injury surface before the start of the program. Sammy Guevera looked to have a head or neck injury in a bout against Serpentico that happened tonight in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before AEW Dynamite airing live on TBS. Serpentico handed Guevara a cutter, and it ended the match instantly.

Sammy Guevara and Serpentico squared up prior to the October 2 AEW Dynamite. Subsequently, Guevara attempted to cut the bonds, but the Spanish God remained still. Personnel from AEW hurried to the ring and encircled the AEW pillar. Sammy Guevara received medical attention and was then carried off on a stretcher.

Sammy Guevara lost a Ring of Honor match to Serpentico and was knocked out before the October 2, 2024, episode of AEW Dynamite. Attendees observed that Guevara attempted a cutter after Serpentico fell off the top rope, but the timing was incorrect. It was said that Serpentico struck Guevara's face beneath him during the landing, instantly rendering him unconscious. The referee terminated the match and declared Serpentico as the winner. Guevara was stretchered out of the ring after AEW medical personnel checked on him.

Sammy Guevara is ROH Tag Team Champions 

Sammy Guevara, who is presently 1/2 of the ROH Tag Team Champions with Dustin Rhodes, is not happy about this. Before Dynamite, during the Ring of Honor taping, Sammy Guevara had a terrifying injury. Attending the performance at the Petersen Events Center, professional wrestling journalist John Clark reports that the ROH Tag Team Champion attempted a midair cutter and landed somewhat uncomfortably.  This was regrettably the second fright of the night as a local star was also placed on a backboard following a spot gone awry in her competition with Lady Frost, according to those in attendance.
