On the October 23 edition of AEW Dynamite, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and the Blackpool Combat Club carried on their hostile takeover. They violently assaulted producer Chuck Taylor after dragging him out at the end of the program. Claudio Castagnoli stomped on Taylor's neck after encircling it with a chair. Moxley and his friends were chased out of the ring by the locker room. At the end of the program, Taylor was checked on.

As AEW Dynamite concluded, Jon Moxley stomped on a steel chair that was fastened around Chuck Taylor's neck. Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli assaulted Daniel Garcia and Private Party (Zay & Quen) after they defeated Jack Perry & The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) in the main event.

Chuck Taylor hasn't wrestled since losing to Trent Beretta

Chuck Taylor was then pulled out by Moxley, who had him in a dangerous situation against Yuta, Claudio, and Moxley. Due to Orange Cassidy's tardiness in completing the save, Moxley kicked Taylor in the neck, rendering him inoperable. A second video package with Jon Moxley declaring that he would destroy a piece of someone for the greater good opened AEW Dynamite.

Taylor hasn't wrestled since losing to Trent Beretta in a parking lot brawl on the April 27 episode of AEW Dynamite. In the end, Orange Cassidy asserted that Taylor would never be able to wrestle again due to an injury that was later shown to be genuine. Taylor said there was a possibility he may wrestle after surgery.
