WATCH: CM Punk gives emotional tribute to Sabu to kick off RAW

Former WWE Champion CM Punk gives heartfelt tribute to pro wrestling legend Sabu who passed away at the age of 60 on Sunday. Punk was later confronted by Paul Heyman, Seth Rollins, and Bron Brekker

Pro wrestling legend Sabu’s sad demise on Sunday left everyone shocked. Since then wrestlers past and present have taken to social media to give their views on the passing of a legend. CM Punk kicked off RAW which was held in Louisville Kentucky to huge cheers as fans cheered the former WWE Champion to the ring. Punk stood near the ring ropes and pointed his finger to the sky which was Sabu’s signature pose.

Later Punk posted a short message on his Instagram handle which read “He influenced everyone and everything. You read about him and when you finally saw him, he somehow exceeded the expectations. He was infamous. There will never be another Sabu”

RAW began with commentators Pat McAfee and Michael Cole remembering the former ECW great at the start of the program. Cole said “Ladies and Gentlemen, the wrestling world, lost a trail blazer over the weekend. Legendary ECW superstar Sabu, he was an hardcore extraordinaire, he passed away at the age of 60. Two time ECW world champion, who had a legendary rivalry with a friend of mine named Tazz”. It is to be noted that Tazz is currently employed with AEW as a commentator. 

CM Punk calls out Paul Heyman after WrestleMania betrayal

Paul Heyman has been hated by fans for his betrayal of CM Punk and Roman Reigns to align himself with Seth Rollins. The two also have added Bron Brekker to the mix to create an unbeatable group. Punk took the microphone and made his anger visible after being betrayed by Paul Heyman few weeks ago. 

Punk also added that this wasn’t the first time that Heyman had stabbed him in the back. At this point Seth Rollins came out and took shots at Punk before Bron Brekker marched to the ring to assault the former WWE champion. Sami Zayn and current champion Jey Uso came to the ring to even the odds. 

Meanwhile, former champion Gunther threw out a challenge to the winner of the title match between Jey Uso and Logan Paul. The two will meet each other in the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME) PLE for the title. Gunther said that he will face the winner of the contest and aim to win back his belt on the RAW after SNME PLE.
