Pro wrestling industry reacts to Sabu’s sad demise

Pro wrestling world reacts to the passing of Sabu aged 60 on Sunday. The former wrestling legend had an illustrious career and shot to fame for his hardcore style.

Terrence Brunk better known as Sabu, passed away on Sunday at the age of 60. Once the news broke, pro wrestling industry took to social media to share their shock and grief. Former tag team partner and longtime rival Rob Van Dam put up a emoji of the forefinger which was the known signature of Sabu who came up with the routine during his entrance.

Former WWE, TNA, and ECW tag team champion Bubba Ray Dudley took to his X handle and wrote, “A brotherhood and bond that very few in our business will ever understand.. RIP Sabu and THANK YOU for being the pioneer and originator of getting the tables!!” Bubba Ray Dudley also announced that his show on the Busted Open Radio will pay homage to the wrestler. 

Sabu who is a noted wrestler for over four decades was known for his amazing athleticism. The 60-year-old took on Joey Janela in what was his last ever wrestling match in April. During his career, Sabu wrestled for variety of promotions that included his stints with WWE and TNA. 

More reactions pour in for Sabu 

Former ECW women wrester Francine wrote “My heart is broken, rest in peace to my friend Sabu. I love you always”. Masato Dangan took to his X handle and posted a long message in honor of the wrestler with a picture of himself and Sabu doing the finger up pose. 

Blue Meanie wrote, “Rest in Peace Sabu… thank you, I love you, I miss you… I’m totally devastated”. Former TNA wrestler Abyss posted a message which read “Heartbroken hearing the news of Sabiu passing away. He always treated me great and we shared some special moments in the ring. He made me laugh so many times over the last 20 years. Rest in Peace and God Speed Sabu.”

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Total Nonstop Action (TNA), All Elite Wrestling (AEW), and Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) all posted their own tributes for one of the legends of the wrestling industry. Other wrestlers like Sami Zayn, Matt Cardona, Mark Briscoe, Damien Priest, and Brian Myers all posted their own tributes on social media.
