WATCH: Chelsea Green defends United States Championship against Sol Ruca on WWE NXT

Chelsea Green, the WWE United States Champion, began tonight's WWE NXT program by defending her title against Sol Ruca, an NXT star. Sol earned this bout by pinning Chelsea in tag team action when they visited NXT a few weeks back. The Pledge of Allegiance to Chelsea was repeated by the fans, recounting to a thrilling moment that got the game going. It didn't stop Sol from fighting the champion, though.

When the contest began, both ladies start to hit each other. Ruca then gives Chelsea Green a shoulder tackle before delivering a facebuster after the two ladies alternately lock each other in submission grips. After sending Ruca into a corner, Green tries to strike her with a Codebreaker, but Ruca lands on her feet and hits Green in the back.

Chelsea Green uses her signature move to win the game

The referee is then sidetracked by Fyre as Niven tries to trip Ruca on the apron, but Ruca frees her from Green. After that, Green can start focusing on Ruca's knee, which she does by bouncing it off the mat and then wrenching it back with the bottom rope. Then Green gives Ruca a Dragon Screw. After giving Green a rocket dropkick off the middle ring, Ruca hurts her chest. Then, Ruca falls, allowing Green to pin her. Then with the use of holding rope, Ruca kicks out, sending Green flying into the mat.

After that, Ruca ascends to the top rope and gives Green a Cartwheel-style DDT. Then, Ruca tries to pin him, but Fyre breaks the hold by getting Green's foot on the bottom rope. Then, ZARIA stabs Fyre with a spear, but Niven catches ZARIA. When she returns to the ring, Ruca walks into a Codebreaker from Green after flying off the apron to knock down Niven. Green then tries to strike Ruca with the Unprettier, but Ruca manages to get away and prepares for the Sol Snatcher. After dodging it, Green uses the Unprettier to hit Ruca and win.
