It was an exciting match between Britt Baker and Mercedes Mone for the TBS title. Britt Baker did something that reminded the fans of late WWE star and Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero.
During the end of the game, Britt Baker was being held by Kamille as the latter was trying to help Mone. Just when the referee had his back turned Baker threw the belt to Kamille and pretended to fall in the ring.
This is when the referee caught the act disqualified Kamille from the match and sent her back. This left Mercedes Mone with no other choice but to fight alone as her friend had been asked to leave the ring.
Mercedes Mone though held her own and fought well to beat Britt Baker to win the game and retain her TBS Championship Belt. The former WWE star was hit with a couple of devastating moves by Baker but Mone hit her finishing move to win the match.
Mercedes Mone wins hard-fought battle against Britt Baker
Ever since Mercedes Mone came into All Elite Wrestling the fans had been waiting for her match against Britt Baker. The former AEW women’s champion came back after an injury and challenged Mone to the match for the TBS title.
Kamille who is a new player in AEW has become the friend and bodyguard for Mercedes Mone. It was expected that Kamille would play a huge role in the game between the two players.
Britt Baker though outsmarted everyone with the way she managed to disqualify Kamille from the match. Not only did she do the classic Eddie Guerrero three hip tosses but also did a move which reminded fans of the former late great star.
Eddie Guerrero was known to use the motto ‘Win at all costs’. During his time in the WWE, Eddie Guerrero would use these tactics to win or get the opposite player disqualified from the game.
After the match, Mercedes Mone was all smiles and happy as she was able to retain her TBS title. It will be interesting to see where the two players go from here after the amazing match that took place in London on Sunday.
