WATCH: Trick Williams defeats Eddy Thorpe and sets his sights on Oba Femi for NXT title

On March 18, NXT released a spectacular program that included the return of a beloved match. The main event of the March 18th edition of WWE NXT saw Trick Williams defeating Eddy Thorpe in an NXT Underground match. Referee stoppage via strikes gave Williams the victory. The Underground has seen many wrestlers battle, and Trick Williams and Eddy Thorpe joined them this week.

Even though the main event match was somewhat brief, there was plenty of action. The opening ring was immediately followed by the fighting spilling out of the ring. Williams is back-dropped onto the announce desk by Thorpe, and the desk collapses. Trick Williams then manages to get out of the ring and strike Thorpe with the Trick Shot after Thorpe locks him in a submission. Williams then knocks Thorpe out for the victory with a series of right punches.

Following the game, Williams takes the microphone and declares that Thorpe must learn how to argue. Oba Femi, the WWE NXT Champion, is then told by Williams to get out of here. After that, Oba Femi enters the ring, removes his shirt, and faces Williams. Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin, and Dion Lennox emerge from the throng as the lights go out.

Je'von Evans saves Trick Williams

When Je'von Evans tries to support Williams, Williams tells Evans he doesn't need his assistance, shocking Evans. Then, in an attempt to keep the talents apart, Femi and Williams begin fighting with them outside of the ring, but their attempts are unsuccessful. Trick fights with Femi after pushing Evans away.  Evans enters the fight and uses a cutter to put Femi down. The performance ends as Williams and Evans continue to look at one another.
