Swerve Strickland's incredible title reign continues, defends AEW Championship against Will Ospreay

Swerve Strickland continued his dominant run as the AEW champion. He overcame the tough challenge of Will Ospreay and defended his title after a great main event match at Forbidden Door. The title reign of Shane has been filled with classic matches. It was one such match where the fans were invested in it and found it worth the penny.

The match started slowly and both wrestlers tried to read each other. At no point in the match, it seemed like any of them was willing to give up. In the first few minutes, Shane tried to gain control over the match. But Will did not give any room to the champion. It seemed like Ospreay had nothing to lose, as his belt was not under the line.

The International Champion gave a great fight, probably the toughest challenge for Swerve since he became the champion. It was a long match and the crowd did not mind. During the match, the focus went backstage where MJF was seeing the duo's match. In the ring, the two wrestlers gave their hearts out and had the crowd on its feet. The commentators sold the move well and the two champion wrestlers aimed higher.

I Will attempt Oscutter quite a few times. Swerve was intelligent enough to cut them. With the progression of the match, the world champion gained control over his opponent. He delivered Swerve Stomp but Will kicked out at two. Swerve Strickland delivered his finisher through the announce table. But Ospreay wasn't ready to give up. Swerve was shocked to see Will's resilience.

Ospreay seemed to be fired up and delivered a Hidden Blade. Shane returned soon and delivered a JML Driver. He pinned Ospreay to claim an exceptional win. After the match, the duo shared a beautiful moment. The duo went forehead to forehead and Swerve kissed Ospreay's forehead to acknowledge how great an opponent he was. The crowd was happy with the great ending to the PLE.
