Bryan Danielson gave a health and in-ring status report, but he hinted that he is considering retiring from professional wrestling. The future of Danielson's storied wrestling career is unknown due to a serious and ongoing neck injury. After losing the World Title to Jon Moxley in his most recent in-ring appearance at Wrestle Dynasty, this comes after that.

Advertisment

Bryan Danielson stated in October that he was determined not to have surgery, choosing instead to use stem cell therapy to promote recovery and avoid a potentially life-changing operation. The top star, however, declared in December of that year that there was a tenuous "50/50" chance that he would return to active competition. Even while there is still doubt, Danielson has not completely ruled out a possible comeback.

Danielson recently talked with NMedia's Jamal Niaz during the weigh-in event in London before the boxing battle between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn.  He asked explicitly if Danielson would return to AEW to take on Jon Moxley once again during it, and Danielson gave a frank response. "My neck is wrecked," Danielson admitted with a smile on his face

"So, it's not no chance, but it's risk versus reward at this point, right? So I want to be able to live comfortably with my wife and kids. One of the things our society has a real problem with is realizing when enough is enough, and I'm very satisfied with my career, and I think enough is enough," he added.

Still works with AEW - Tony Khan

This week, Tony Khan, the president of AEW, expressed his optimism that Bryan will be able to get back into the ring at some point. "People in AEW are of the belief he hasn't wrestled his last match. He was hoping to avoid surgery, and we haven't heard if that's changed. He's been backstage here and there and still works with AEW," Tony Khan said. When Niaz questioned Danielson about which opponent could persuade him to put his boots back on, Danielson was unable to provide a definitive response.
