On this day in 2021, CM Punk debuted on AEW Rampage. The star wrestler returned to Professional Wrestling for the first time in 7 years. There was a huge buzz around as Punk was returning to Wrestling as a full-time athlete for the first time since his exit from WWE. The AEW fans were excited for the massive moment and ensured a loud pop to welcome their hero.

CM Punk entered the arena, took some time to soak in the buzz, and brought his iconic roar. The star wrestler made it to the ring, sat down in his iconic way, and addressed the crowd. Punk went on to challenge Darby Allin for a match at All Out. Punk was in AEW from August 2021 till All In last year in 2023 where an unfortunate incident took place.

He had a backstage brawl with Jack Perry which was unscripted. It forced Tony Khan to fire him from the company. Punk is one of the most controversial figures in the Wrestling community. Be it his stint with WWE in the past or with AEW, they ended in a bad way. One cannot deny the popularity of the wrestler among the fans.

CM Punk's return to WWE

It was visible when he unexpectedly returned to WWE at the Survivor Series in 2023. The voice of the voiceless was the last wrestler one would have hoped to see in WWE. Given his past with Vince McMahon, the majority never expected to see him again in the company. His return hence turned out to be the most epic of all time.

A few months back, Tony Khan claimed to broadcast the details of what transpired during the brawl between Perry and Punk at All In. However, it did not gain as much traction as it should have. Punk has been having the time of his life currently in WWE taking on some of the best wrestlers in the world like Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins.
