Mariah May successfully defended her title against Willow Nightingale at AEW WrestleDream 2024. The World Champion had a hard time in the ring as Willow gave a run for money in the match. Despite the tough challenge, May showed her class and showed why she deserved to be the world champion. Fans regarded the match to be Mariah's best in her AEW career so far.
The last few weeks on Dynamite have not been fruitful for May. As the star wrestler tried to celebrate her title win at 'All In', she has been only facing delays due to a number of reasons. Queen Aminata, Willow, and others have stopped her from enjoying her success on the big night.

Mariah May felt she missed something or someone in celebrating her win. She realized it to be none other than Mina Shirakawa and convinced her to be back on Dynamite. As May was happy to see her best friend and got ready to celebrate, Nightingale interrupted her celebrations.
Mariah May's best match in AEW so far
It led to their match at WrestleDream for the world title. Nightingale was the finalist when May took her on to win the Owen Hart Tournament 2024. It was after the win she attacked Toni Storm to shock the AEW universe. Her match with Willow was loved by the fans as both the wrestlers gave a great performance.
Both of them improvised as per the reaction from the crowd which showed their situation awareness. They brought some of their regular moves and mixed them with unique moves. Willow showed she had it in her to be the world champion. Unfortunately, it was not her day.
May was taken to the limit by Willow. She faced the toughest challenge of her title defense and came out in flying colors. Mariah claimed a win by pinning Willow. After the match, she was in the press conference. The media personnel appreciated her win and praised it to be her best match yet on the roster.
