It has been the summer buzz regarding Bobby Lashley's future in professional wrestling. Throughout 2024, the former WWE Champion found himself around the midcard scene of WWE SmackDown. Even though he defeated Karrion Kross and the Authors of Pain at WWE WrestleMania 40 thanks to a partnership with the Street Profits, Lashley's standing within the blue brand remained mostly unchanged. After WWE WrestleMania 40, he competed in six matches overall just one of which was broadcast on television, and was forced to withdraw from the King of the Ring competition owing to an injury.

In August of last year, Bobby Lashley's contract expired, and he discreetly left the organization. Bobby Lashley has signed with AEW, according to Fightful Select, and is anticipated to make his debut soon. A few weeks ago, Lashley inked an AEW deal with Shelton Benjamin and MVP, his old stablemates.

Shelton Benjamin and MVP have already debuted on AEW. At AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam in September, MVP made his debut appearance. He confronted fellow manager Prince Nana and scolded him for Swerve Strickland's failures. In a behind-the-scenes section on AEW Dynamite: Fifth Anniversary, MVP presented Benjamin to the audience this past Wednesday. During the show, he also made advances on Mercedes Moné, the AEW TBS Champion, by giving her his business card.

Bobby Lashley expected to be the main attraction

The Hurt Business's reunion in AEW probably depends on Lashley being the last piece in this puzzle. The Hurt Business was a WWE stable consisting of MVP, Lashley, Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander. Before live audiences returned, the foursome, who were a mainstay of WWE Monday Night Raw throughout the outbreak, broke up. WWE has hinted about reviving the fan-favorite group a few times, but they have never really followed through.

According to recent trademark applications, the organization would be referred to within AEW as "The Hurt Syndicate". The main players, MVP, Benjamin, and Lashley, are expected to be the main attraction, but based on MVP's approach to Mone, it seems like the former WWE United States Champion is eager to bring in new players. MVP has waxed poetic about the former AEW World Champion's prowess as an athlete and entertainer, therefore one of those prospective signings is probably Strickland, based on his present antagonism with Prince Nana.
