Anthony Bowens made the final decision, and AEW fans watched The Acclaimed's formal demise at AEW Collision Maximum Carnage. Bowens and Max Caster ultimately faced off in the ring after weeks of conflict, with Caster claiming to be "The Best Wrestler Alive" and even presenting documentation to support his claim. But Bowens had a different opinion. He called Caster "an edge-lord piece of shit" and accused him of deceiving the fans for five years.
Anthony Bowens stated unequivocally that he considers himself to be "the pride of AEW" and is prepared to demonstrate this for himself. Caster refused to listen to Billy Gunn's attempts to intervene and reason with both men. Bowens pretended to cut Caster with scissors, but instead, he flipped him off. Caster claimed that everyone else was terrible and that he would demonstrate why he was the greatest wrestler alive. As he approached the ring, Billy Gunn enquired as to their condition.

Anthony Bowens won AEW Tag Team Titles with Billy Gunn
According to Caster, Billy joined The Acclaimed because he wanted to hear his name chanted and doesn't give a damn about the group. "It should be about me...and Anthony." Bowens had to decide between him and Billy; Caster informed him. In what will be remembered as the last nail in The Acclaimed's history, Bowens baited Caster with a scissor motion, then flipped him off instead.
