Sports Illustrated announced its awards for the 2025 calendar year, where AEW's wrestlers, matches, and feuds dominated. Hangman Page and Mercedes Mone won the Male and Female Wrestlers of the Year Awards, respectively. John Cena won the Legacy Award, while AEW emerged as the Wrestling Promotion of the Year.
Hangman Page became the world champion after beating Jon Moxley at AEW All In. Their feud was awarded with the Rivalry of the Year. The story of Page redeeming himself to win the world title won the Story of the Year Award. Kyle Fletcher was awarded with Breakout Star of the Year honor.
While FTR won the Tag Team of the Year award, Toni Storm was named the best on mic. Mercedes Mone, who won multiple belts for fun and broke records, was named the Female Wrestler of the Year. Will Ospreay's good run continued, as he won the Best In-Ring Talent of the Year Award.
John Cena wins Sports Illustrated's 2025 Legacy Award
The Triple-threat match between Iyo Sky, Rhea Ripley, and Bianca Belair on Night 2 of WrestleMania won the Match of the Year Award. AEW emerged as the Promotion of the Year to no one's surprise. One of its PLEs, AEW Double or Nothing, was awarded with the Show of the Year.

In a surprising move, Naomi won the Heel turn of the Year award. The star wrestler turned her back on Jade Cargill, which led to her winning the award. Ilja Dragunov, who returned after a year and won the US Title, won the Comeback Performer of the Year award. John Cena, who retired as an in-ring performer recently, won the 2025 Legacy Award for his retirement run.
