Cope (FKA Edge), the former AEW TNT Champion, unexpectedly mentioned two prominent WWE Superstars after Dynamite departed from the show last night. The most recent Wednesday Night Show included the Rated-R Superstar as a competitor in the main event. AJ Styles and Rey Mysterio were mentioned by the former Edge following his bout with PAC last night. Following The Beautiful Shooting Star's loss to The Rated-R Superstar, the WWE Hall of Famer was beaten by The Death Riders until Jay White intervened to save him.

Jay said he had never met Cope when he introduced himself to him after the event ended. To defeat the Death Riders, Switchblade added, they need some of the most formidable men. Cope engaged with the audience after Jay departed, reminding supporters that his previous visit to Knoxville included a matchup with AJ Styles and Rey Mysterio. In May 2023, the former Edge participated in the WWE World Heavyweight Title Tournament and engaged in a Triple Threat Match against The Phenomenal One and The Master of 619.

"Knoxville. The last time I was here, I faced AJ Styles and Rey Mysterio. Tonight I faced PAC and God da*n (Sic); it was hard, but I'm still standing. No matter what The Death Riders do, I'm always going to get back up," he said.

Cope has been a key star in AEW

Following The Rated-R Superstar's emotional engagement with fans in Knoxville last night, Tony Khan, the president of AEW, arrived to engage with them. Khan remembered witnessing 'Smoky Mountain Wrestling' in Knoxville as a boy, and he had pleasant memories of it. Additionally, the 42-year-old stated that Dynamite would return to the city in the future.

After what happened on AEW Dynamite this week, Cope's conflict with Jon Moxley and The Death Riders is expected to continue. Where the story will go is only a matter of time. Since changing his name to Cope, he has been a major force in AEW, most notably participating in a crazy 12-man tag match on AEW Collision: Maximum Carnage. Together with FTR, Powerhouse Hobbs, and The Outrunners, he defeated Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, Chris Jericho, Big Bill, Bryan Keith, and Jon Moxley in a huge battle. With that victory under his belt, everything is leading to a potential one-on-one matchup between Moxley and Cope.
