'I will work for bringing Sports university' - Deepak Niwas Hooda's promises as a BJP MLA in Haryana Elections (Source: X)
Deepak Niwas Hooda will be contesting from BJP in the Haryana Elections 2024 in Meham Constituency. The star player has major promises for his constituency which includes the development of Sports infrastructure. Deepak promised that he would ensure the setting up of a Sports university, sports centres, a medical, and an engineering college for the area.
Deepak is one of the most popular players in the history of PKL. He made news by joining the BJP in the Haryana Elections. He spoke to the people in a rally recently and claimed that no none could stop the BJP in the elections. "Nobody will be able to prevent lotus (BJP's poll symbol) from blooming in Meham," claimed Hooda.
He won two PKL titles with the Jaipur Pink Panthers. But he pulled his name out of the PKL auction in 2024 and made a career move from Kabaddi to politics. Many were surprised to see it from someone like Deepak. In the rally, he made promises for the development of sports and educational infrastructure for Meham.

"I will also work for bringing a sports university here, set up sports centres, will demand a medical college or an engineering college in the constituency," added Deepak Hooda in the rally. He further tried to impress the people of Meham by taking a dig at his opponent. He claimed his Congress opponent to be an arrogant person.
Deepak said that Dangi does not acknowledge the greetings of common people. "People of the Meham constituency have been saying that they have not seen a more arrogant person than Dangi. He does not even acknowledge people's 'ram ram' (a way of greeting someone)," claimed Hooda.
Deepak's wife, Saweety Boora, is also an athlete. As a Boxer, she has made a name for herself. Even she joined politics and has been helping Deepak. The star player was glad to have her on his side. "She has been working hard with me day and night. She has been visiting villages," added Deepak in the rally.
