Netflix executive producer behind the docu-drama series ‘Drive to Survive’ has announced the inclusion of the Christian Horner scandal in the upcoming season. The docu-drama has covered the F1 from the last six seasons and it will be very difficult for Netflix to cover the issue.

Netflix cameras were on in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to film the next part of the series. While speaking about the Horner scandal, series producer James Gay-Rees said, "It will have to be referenced in some capacity.”

“And they will all want it to be told in a particular way, so it’s about treading that line to keep everybody happy, and to keep Netflix happy, and us – so we can sleep at night with the decisions we’ve made”, he further added.

“It does still not end”, says James Gay-Rees

Notably, this saga had rocked headlines for the first few weeks before the season as it was first reported in February. An internal investigation was also launched after a female employee made serious allegations of inappropriate behaviour against Horner.

However, that internal investigation found nothing against Horner and he was cleared of the charges. Some details of the investigation and chats between both Horner and the alleged victim female employee to FIA, top authorities of F1 and others to clear the air over the issue.

The victim was given the right to appeal again but it’s yet to be revealed whether she used it or not. Speaking about this James said, “You have to have balance. I think Horner is looking okay for the time being, but it doesn’t feel like it’s done yet. It will all depend on how it plays out.

"I don’t know what he got up to - and I genuinely don’t have an opinion on it, but he’s been through it and you wouldn’t wish that on anybody.” Notably, Netflix is likely to release the next part of the infamous Drive to Survive in February 2025.
