After his thrilling performance in the Japanese GP 2024, Red Bull’s driver Sergio Perez opens up about his future in the team. As Perez’s contract is expiring the decision over his retention in the squad is likely to be taken soon.

With Daniel Ricciardo’s comeback into the squad and his ambitions to end his illustrious career with Bull retention decision will be crucial for both Bull and Perez. Notably, Driver’s Market will also have Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso as free agents for 2025 which also makes things interesting for him.

“I am pretty relaxed about it,” he told a media house after the race in Japan. “My main focus is in F1 and whatever comes next, I’m pleased with what I’ve done in the sport so far. I believe it will be a matter of time before the driver market is moving and the next few weeks are going to be a lot of movement for sure, so I expect within a month to know what I’m doing next year.”

What are the options for Sergio Perez?

With early movements in the driver’s market and Lewis Hamilton’s surprise move to Ferrari, Sergio Perez might be looking at the vacated place in Mercedes. Things might go well with the Red Bull too as Perez is continuously talking about his outstanding performances on race tracks.

Despite all this talking Perez still finds himself among those players who can retain their place in Red Bull. Since his debut with Red Bull along with Max Verstappen Sergio Perez continues his dominance with tyers.

However, the current consensus within Red Bull is that the seat is firmly in Perez's hands, as stated by team principal Christian Horner. Perez is demonstrating a strong performance indicative of his desire to remain in Formula 1 for the upcoming seasons.
