Mathias Boe took to Instagram and announced his retirement from coaching. The coach of the Indian Badminton pair of Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty claimed that he spent a lot of time in the Badminton hall and needed a bit of rest. Boe claimed the job of a coach to be stressful and claimed that he wouldn't coach anyone in the future.

"For me, my coaching days end here, I'm not going to continue in India or anywhere else, for now at least. I have spent too much time in a badminton hall and it's also pretty stressful to be a coach, I'm a tired old man," wrote Boe. The husband of the popular Bollywood actress Tapsee Pannu was disappointed in the Indian duo of Satchi.

The 3rd seeded pair lost the quarterfinal of the men's doubles against Malaysia's Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik by 1-13, 14-21, 16-21 in straight sets. The pair was regarded as the favourite to win the gold medal by many. To return empty-handed has not just hurt the players themselves but also the coach. Boe sent a consolidation message to his students.

'You have everything to be proud of' - Mathias Boe's message to Satchi

Mathias said that he was aware of how gutted the duo was and badly wanted to bring the medal to India. Mathias felt it wasn't the time. He said that the duo can be proud of themselves for their performances over the years despite not winning a medal at the Olympics. The Badminton coach reminded Satchi of the injuries and recovery they had to go through.

Boe appreciated the efforts of the young pair who have gone through a lot to be at the top of their game. "You have everything to be proud of, how hard you have worked in this Olympics camp, battling injuries, even taking injections to reduce the pain, that is dedication, that is passion and that is a lot of Heart," wrote Mathias on Instagram. It is to be seen who will be the next coach of Satchi.
