FC Barcelona has focused entirely on Dani Olmo in the past few days after losing optimism that Nico Williams would arrive this summer. Although RB Leipzig has already rejected two of the Catalans' offers, a deal is still very much alive and well and might even be finalized by the conclusion of the week.

According to numerous media sources, Dani Olmo and his representatives met with RB Leipzig on Tuesday to discuss crucial matters. Deco, the sports director of FC Barcelona, was also there as everyone strived for a successful conclusion to this transfer saga. Once the meeting came to an end, the renowned transfer journalist announced on social media that Dani Olmo would be joining FC Barcelona this summer.

Olmo would undoubtedly be happy to return to Barcelona. He reached a personal terms deal with RB Leipzig last week, which meant that the only thing preventing a deal from closing was a financial agreement.

It looks like FC Barcelona will have a very exciting few days ahead of them. Not only may they make significant progress in their attempt to acquire Olmo, but they might also hear back favorably from Williams. The Athletic Club attacker is anticipated to announce the fact that he plans to depart Bilbao this summer.

How much will FC Barcelona pay for Dani Olmo?

With an additional €7 million in add-ons, FC Barcelona will be paying Leipzig a transfer fee of €55 million, bringing the total worth to €62 million, two million euros above Leipzig's initial asking price. In the past week, Olmo and FC Barcelona signed an agreement on a contract that would extend until 2030. Now, an agreement has also been reached with RB Leipzig.

Now that the aim has been attained, sporting director Deco will soon make an official statement. Dani Olmo, who started his career as a promising La Masia prospect and later joined Dinamo Zagreb before moving to Leipzig, where he developed into an outstanding player and was instrumental in Spain's pursuit for the UEFA Euro 2024 title, is expected to return to Camp Nou after a ten-year absence.
