In a possible bid to hijack Real Madrid's pursuit of Lenny Yoro, Lille has reportedly agreed a £42 million approach from Manchester United. The Red Devils have made a significant move to acquire one of Europe's brightest young players, as reported by Nabil Djellit of France Football. Their €50 million (£42 million/$53 million) deal for the defender has been approved by the Ligue 1 team. Real Madrid, who had long been seen as the favorites to capture the 18-year-old, is thought to have made a "superior" bid.

Yoro's future is still uncertain even though United's proposal was accepted. The athlete still wants to sign with Real Madrid, with whom he supposedly has a personal contract. The reason Lille is willing to sell Yoro during the summer is related to his contract status. The young player is approaching the last year of his current contract, thus Lille has one more chance to obtain a good price for him during this transfer window before running the risk of losing him for nothing next summertime.

He has stated that Real Madrid is his ideal destination, therefore in order to entice him to Old Trafford, United must have a strong sporting concept. According to reports, Yoro is willing to stay at Lille for an additional year in order to sign with the Spanish powerhouses as a free agent for the upcoming campaign if Los Blancos and Lille are unable to come to an agreement regarding a final transfer cost.

Manchester United to make Lenny Yoro move a priority?

In order to provide Erik ten Hag with the resources he needs to enhance his team's defensive record, INEOS is hoping to add two new center backs to the Red Devils during the summer transfer window.  Matthijs De Ligt, a Netherlands international, and Manchester United are allegedly close to reaching a personal terms agreement.

Manchester United finished the regular season with the joint-fifth best defensive performance in the English Premier League, but they will need to improve significantly if they hope to finish in the top four. Due to his team's injury issues, Ten Hag found it difficult to field a reliable defense last season. The Dutchman is aiming to give Lisandro Martinez a reliable partner with Raphael Varane no longer at the club.
