On Tuesday when Finland visited Wembley for a UEFA Nations League match, Cole Palmer did not make the playing XI for England. Surprisingly, he was also not named on the bench, which did spark some doubt on his fitness. There are reports that the Chelsea superstar has sustained a knock and it might be a precautionary measure to not name him in the squad today.

In addition to this, Chelsea left him out of their UEFA Conference League squad for the season, along with two other superstars of the team. Some sources reported that he is suffering from muscle fatigue, which is a common injury since he has been playing week in and week out for both club and country.

According to reports, it’s not anything serious and adequate rest shall be the way forward for the former Manchester City playmaker. There is a very high chance that he would be in the starting XI for Chelsea’s game against Bournemouth later this week. He has had a great start to the season and has already been donning the headlines in the Premier League. Chelsea would be hopeful to keep their star player fit for the hectic schedule.

Harry Kane scores on 100th appearance against England

Furthermore, Bayern Munich attacker Harry Kane became the tenth player to play for England in a century of appearances. Harry Kane notched up his 67th goal for his country in the 58th minute of the game. It was an amazing goal as he cut past one defender and blasted an effort past Lukas Hradecky to break the deadlock. He also became the third player to score for England during his 100th appearance for the nation after Wayne Rooney and Sir Bobby Charlton.

Lee Carsley's team defeated Ireland 2-0 in Dublin on Saturday, capping off his maiden encounter in charge with a commanding performance. Declan Rice and Jack Grealish's goals last weekend rewarded England for their creative play, and Carsley anticipates another inventive showing against the bottom-seeded team in Group B2.
