Christopher Vivell is set to be with Manchester United for a short period. The 37-year-old will be the Provisional Director of Global Talent and will work towards some high-profile signings before the start of the next season. He is likely to report to Dan Ashworth and will work under him. It might be a good addition for Manchester United ahead of the big trading season.

The deal was confirmed a few days back. "Understand it's a DONE DEAL: Christopher Vivell is set to join Manchester United with immediate effect as their new Director of Recruitment! All that's missing is the work permit for the 37 y/o. The former Technical Director from Chelsea has many options. But he decided to join #MUFC on a short-term contract! Vivell will help in terms of transfers in the next two windows," a report said.

Vivell has worked a lot for Chelsea and RB Leipzig. His deal with United will be of short term and the role seems to be specific in nature. From December 2022 to July 2023, Vivell was with Chelsea. Working with RB Leipzig has elevated his resume as someone who has worked with a multi-club model. It will help United in the upcoming days given their collaboration with INEOS

Various roles in different clubs

The Red Devils have not gotten their trades right in the last few seasons. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has aimed to get it right with the latest move. His biggest role was with Chelsea as a Technical Director. He worked with RB Leipzig as a Squad Planner and Technical Director respectively. With TSG Hoffenheim, Vivell worked as a Scout and got some good players into the lineup.

His stint with RB Salzburg was good too where he worked in two different roles. The 37-year-old worked as a Sports Coordinator and the Head of Scouting. No wonder why United got him in their management. The key focus for him would be to get some good players through trading to fill the void of the Red Devils.
