Khalid Jamil revealed the focus of the Indian Football team after winning Bronze medal in the CAFA Nations Cup 2025. The Indian Football Coach was focused on AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers against Singapore and agreed the difficulty in the away game. He noted the importance of Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and the potential return of Sunil Chhetri and Sandesh Jhingan to the side.

Following India's win over Oman in the CAFA Nations Cup, Jamil was asked about the upcoming goals of the team. He felt the need to prepare well to gain a positive result in the away game against Singapore in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.

"The CAFA Nations Cup was a great platform where our boys showed character, and now our full focus is on the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers against Singapore. Yes, it'll be a difficult away game. We have to prepare well and give our best to get a positive result," Jamil said in the Press Conference.

The Indian Coach noted the importance of Gurpreet in the side and claimed him to be experienced. He confirmed that Jhingan will be back to the side for the game against Singapore and felt Sunil Chhetri deserves another chance.

"I believe in Gurpreet (Singh Sandhu). He is a good player, and he's experienced. We need him. I have been watching his performance for a long time. So it's my pleasure to be his coach. Sandesh (Jhingan) will be available for the next game. Talking about Sunil (Chhetri), he did well last year. So I think this is the correct time to give him another chance," Jamil added.
