Everyone was taken aback when the child asked Rihanna to take a picture for him, not realizing who she was. Rihanna has received appreciation for responding so quickly after not being recognized. As he stood with some soccer players, the child begged the celebrity to take a photo for him.

The lucky fan was more concerned in grabbing a quick photo with Yunus Musah, Christian Pulisic, and Jack Grealish of the Premier League, who had arrived in New York to watch the Manchester City friendly versus AC Milan. Social media users have been sharing the entire interaction's footage, with some admirers finding it hard to believe the musician could go unnoticed for so long.

Jack Grealish, the midfielder, revealed his excitement at seeing the superstar, admitting that she was his childhood idol several years prior.  Jack, who competed for Aston Villa at the time, confessed in an interview discovered by fans in 2019 that Rihanna had been the person he would most like to meet. He said, “because she’s pretty and I like her music.”

“It was the most difficult thing I've ever had to deal with” : Jack Grealish

Jack Grealish, the forward for Manchester City, expressed that he was "heartbroken," but he is resolved to use the incident as inspiration moving forward. Exactly a week prior to the tournament began, England defeated Bosnia-Herzegovina 3-0 at St. James' Park. Grealish entered the game as a substitute, but he was left out of Gareth Southgate's official 26-man roster. England proceeded to the championship game, where they were defeated by Spain 2-1.

The England superstar said, "When you are on your holidays, every time you turn on the phone or the TV you just see it [the tournament], so it was hard not to see. I'll be honest, football-wise it was the most difficult thing I've ever had to deal with in terms of my own career. I was absolutely heartbroken. For myself now moving forward, I have to just try and use that as motivation going into this season."
