The home team stamped their authority at Mane Garrincha right from the start. Brazil took the lead in next to no time in the first half when Barcelona's skipper Raphinha scored from the spot in the sixth minute. The penalty was given as a result of a rash foul on Vinicius Junior inside the Columbian box. However, Columbia refused to go down without a fight, as Luis Diaz scored the equaliser in the 41st minute as he beautifully linked up with James Rodriguez on the right flank.
