Thierry Henry provided insight into Jude Bellingham's potential frustrations with Kylian Mbappe following Real Madrid's humiliating home match against AC Milan in the Champions League.

After experiencing a second consecutive defeat, Bellingham understandably felt a bit exasperated, as Henry noted that he was taking on responsibilities that would typically fall to Mbappe.

Real Madrid has been in poor form this season following the signing of Mbappe, currently sitting nine points behind Barcelona in La Liga after a tough 4-0 loss. Additionally, they're looking to improve their standing in the Champions League, as they find themselves reeling in the bottom half of the group.

Henry's take on Jude Bellingham

Henry pointed out that Bellingham consistently makes intelligent runs behind the defence, while he observed that Mbappé could improve in both the attacking and defensive aspects.

He noted a sense of frustration with the dynamic on the field, emphasizing that the team's centre forward isn't making those key runs while the players in other positions are stepping up.

"It's always Bellingham trying to make the run, trying to make the team play, running in behind, trying to break the line" Henry said.

"I think there is a little frustration. Your nine isn't going, and your 10-ish is going. I know it can happen sometimes but not all the time. Every single time. I know he's not a number nine and that this maybe is not what he likes to do. Do you think he likes to make those runs, try and stretch the team? He'll do it because he has to do it, because his desire speaks, his will speaks. You don't win games like that. You don't win games with your 10 breaking the line, coming back, trying to bend his run, trying to defend, trying to go the other side. And then after, he gets substituted?" Henry added.

Henry's take on Kylian Mbappe

He also understood that Mbappé may not naturally see himself as a centre forward and might not prefer this role, but he believed that embracing this responsibility is essential for the team's overall success.

Henry shared some insights on his fellow Frenchman Mbappe. He emphasized that for Mbappé to thrive as a forward, he needs to embrace the role of a number nine, focusing on making intelligent runs behind the defence.

Henry acknowledged that while Mbappé has immense potential, he needs to develop further as a striker. He noted that Mbappé isn’t required to hold the ball like Didier Drogba or take on defenders with dribbles but should concentrate on making those crucial runs that create scoring chances.

"He's going to have to learn to play as a nine and the desire and the will of running in behind. He will get better - he can't be worse than this. We're not asking him to hold the ball like Didier Drogba, who was magnificent. We're not asking him to get the ball and dribble past everybody. But that cannot happen all the time, a run in behind (from Bellingham), when the team is high" said Henry.
