Inside the Old Trafford Stadium on this Sunday, Chelsea held Manchester United to a draw of 1-1 during their match in the Premier League thanks to an equalizer from Moises Caicedo following Bruno Fernandes' penalty kick.
The Red Devils defeated Leicester 5-2 in their League Cup match, meaning they were still undefeated under temporary manager Ruud van Nistelrooy. With 18 points from 10 games, Chelsea is in fourth place in the Premier League, while they remain in 13th place after the draw. Marcus Rashford struck the woodwork with the final ball of the opening half as United got off to a fast start. However, Bruno's goal from the penalty spot during the 70th minute gave it the lead.
Caicedo's goal from a set-piece just four minutes later gave the Blues a point in the road game, thus the lead did not last long. The midfielder chose to smash the ball low towards the near post on a full volley after it had fallen into his path from a corner. In reality, the ball passed Andre Onana inside his near post after passing through Cole Palmer's legs.

One of the very few guys on the field who can honestly say they played today is Caicedo, and he now wants to demonstrate it. It's the type of shot you only attempt when your team hasn't had a strong offensive strategy.
A minute later, Enzo Fernandez got an attempt with a semi-empty goal that he spooned completely over the bar, giving Chelsea the opportunity to even reverse the tide of the match. He has a long way to go if he intends to join the team at this rate. Enzo would have been at the club six months sooner if he had made the consistent progress Caicedo has.
Upcoming games for Manchester United and Chelsea
For their upcoming games, both teams will travel to Europe. Five days later, Chelsea will visit FC Noah during the UEFA Europa Conference League, while United will host PAOK Thessaloniki during the UEFA Europa League.
Manchester United have not had the best of starts to their European campaign as they have just three points from their first three games, however, they are still unbeaten in Europe this season. They need to get wins in all their remaining games to ensure a top 8 finish in the final standings.
