Kylian Mbappe scores the opener for Real Madrid

The UEFA Champions League resumed this week, featuring an intriguing matchup as Atalanta faced off against the renowned Real Madrid, managed by Carlo Ancelotti, at the Gewiss Stadium on Tuesday.

Atalanta held a commendable fifth position in the UEFA Champions League standings, showcasing impressive performance over the past year. Meanwhile, Real Madrid, positioned at 24th in the Champions League table, is working to regain their best form as the season progresses. 

Real Madrid couldn't afford another disappointing performance. They had to step up and deliver a strong showing on Tuesday.

Atalanta seemed capable of pulling off an upset when they brought their A-game, and they headed into the contest with high morale.

Mbappe's 50th Banger gave Real Madrid and early lead 

In the early moments of the match, Kylian Mbappe, the Galacticos signing, marked an impressive milestone by scoring his 50th Champions League goal, putting Madrid ahead in Bergamo, just ten minutes into the fixture.

After receiving the ball just right of centre, Mbappe showed excellent footwork, using a precise first touch to manoeuvre around his defender. He then approached the goal with only the goalkeeper to beat. 

Carnessechi was unable to respond in time as Mbappe calmly placed the ball to his right, securing an early advantage for Madrid. The Striker was subbed off early in the 35th minute, after he handed Madrid the lead.
