Germany faced Denmark in the second game of the RO16 of the UEFA Euro 2024. The host nation has been amazing in the group stage as they won two games, drew their final game, and came out as group toppers. Julian Naglesmann's side has been the favourites to win the tournament and they have performed like that in the games they have played so far. In their last game, they scored a last-minute equaliser against Switzerland to save the game from defeat.

The Danes have been excellent so far in their group stages as they have drawn out against England and the other two games as well. They qualified as the second-best team after the Three Lions despite having the same points as Slovenia. The game so far has been end-to-end as both sides have failed to score a goal. During the game, there was a pause due to adverse weather conditions.

It has been raining cats and dogs and due to continuous thunderstorms in the game, the match has been suspended by the referee. The incident occurred in the 36th minute, when lightning flashed over the stadium, prompting referee Michael Oliver to call the game off, with the venue later confirming that the fixture had been suspended.

Is there a scheduled time in which the game has to restart?

The players were soon taken off the field before rain and hail started falling at the Westfalenstadion. The stadium's roof also began to leak, resulting in massive waterfalls that soaked the game's attendees. The players first stood about the dugouts before Oliver directed them to return to their dressing rooms after a few minutes of waiting.

According to ITV's refereeing analyst Christina Unkel, nothing in the UEFA regulation book specifies how lengthy the wait may be. However, she did warn that the lightning would have to be at least 10 miles away from the stadium before play could resume, with a typical wait time of 30 minutes when similar incidents occur in other leagues.
