Federico Dimarco levelled the score with an incredible volley. Sandro Tonali is being chipped by the Italian left back to his right. With scarcely a glance back, Tonali gave Dimarco a back-heels flick as he moved farther towards the box.

Dimarco volleyed the pass to Mike Maignan's left with an unobstructed line of sight towards goal, and Maignan was powerless to stop it from travelling towards the upper right corner of the net. It was all to play for both teams as a superb goal put the match back to a deadlock in Paris.

In their UEFA Nations League Group A encounter, France raced off to the ideal possible start. Italy came into the match with their heads down and let up an early goal, although it only took the French team 13 seconds to score.

Mateo Retegui, an Italian, took a cross and passed the ball to Samuele Ricci. After a short while, Ricci connected with Di Lorenzo, who then found Cambiaso, who once more passed the ball to his colleague while facing opposition pressure.

When Bradley Barcola, who was watching the action closely, realised that the Napoli defender remained undecided, he sank his left foot inside to grab the ball. Using his right foot, the PSG midfielder eluded the Italian custodian as he surged into Donnarumma's goal.

Which two other teams are there in Group A along with France and Italy?

In Nations League A, 16 countries are participating in four groups, including France and Italy. Group 2, which includes Israel and Belgium, is perhaps the most powerful among the four groups. The top two finishers in each group go to the two-leg quarterfinal round in March 2025, where the top four finishers advance to the June Finals.

France and Belgium would seem to be the strong favourites in this group but Italy should not be underestimated at all considering their prowess in recent times in major International tournaments.
