Ed Sheeran gave a private concert at England's headquarters in Blankenhain ahead of the team's quarterfinal matchup with Switzerland on Saturday.Β Monday was a rest day for Gareth Southgate's team, following their thrilling 2-1 triumph over Slovakia in the round of 16 extra-time match. Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham scored the game's goals.
Sheeran traveled to the Resort, Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land, where England is staying, and performed in front of players as well as employees later on Monday. Sheeran was watching from the boxes in Gelsenkirchen.
In order to maintain a balance between work and play, Southgate has made it a point to occasionally let the players' families visit the camp following group stage matches. Sheeran also gave an England performance at St George's Park for the most recent European Championship, while Robbie Williams paid the team a visit during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Gareth Southgate is only person alive who would think that Ed Sheeran is the man to bring in to boost the spirits of the English players.

Is Luke Shaw finally ready to start for England after being out for five months?
Jordan Pickford, the goalkeeper for England, stated in a Monday speech that Luke Shaw is prepared to be used if necessary. Due to injury, Shaw has not yet played in the UEFA Euro 2024 and Kieran Trippier is filling in at left defense. Β The Everton goalkeeper said, "He was ready to come on [against Slovakia], but I'm not the manager. He's ready. Luke says he's ready."
After suffering a hamstring injury, the 28-year-old hasn't played a single minute of football from February. Gareth Southgate, the manager of the Three Lions, took a chance on the defender's health by putting him onto England's Euro 2024 team for the 24-nation tournament being held in Germany.
Despite being included in the matchday teams for both the Slovenian and Slovakian matches, he has not yet made an appearance in either of the tournament games. Shaw's first choice for media responsibilities raised some eyebrows as a sign that the defender is prepared to start Saturday's match against Switzerland.
