Davide Frattesi's goal in the 88th minute gave Inter Milan the lead during the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal, as Inter Milan defeated Bayern Munich 2-1 in the first leg of UEFA Champions League. The opening half-hour had little impact from Michael Olise and Harry Kane but failed to add more goals.

At the 38-minute mark, Lautaro Martinez scored the first goal for Inter after Marcus Thuram's deft backhand found him. With a trivela goal against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League, Lautaro Martinez put Inter Milan ahead. Few players, with Lautaro Martínez's flair and distinctive finishing, and would strike this with the outside of their boot.

One of the finest goals of the season may be scored by the combination of No. 9 and No.10, as is seen by Thuram's superb backheel pass and Martinez's stunning finish with the outside of his foot. Nothing less than football art at its purest. The Italians held the lead until the 85th minute but Bayern veteran Thomas Muller, who had just announced his summer departure after 25 years at the club, equalized with a standard poacher's finish.

Bayern Munich's record got broken after 2021

In the first fifteen minutes, Michael Olise and Kane gave the Germans two chances. They were missing a number of important players due to injury, including goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, offensive midfielder Jamal Musiala, and three defenders. After Olise outplayed nearly the whole Inter defense to lay off the ball for Kane, whose curled shot struck the post, they got even closer in the 26th minute.

Due to the late goal, Bayern Munich suffered their first Champions League home loss since 2021, a record of 22 games. "When we watch the footage, when we analyze it, we'll know we could have done better," Mueller, a two-time Champions League winner, said of Inter's "stupid" late goal. Bayern will travel to Milan for the return leg of this Champions League quarterfinal next Wednesday after hosting Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga this past weekend.
