Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably the greatest footballer of all time. The 39-year-old has achieved a lot of heights in his footballing career, and after a successful period in Europe, the Portuguese winger has moved out from the top leagues and currently plays in the Saudi Pro League for Al Nassr. He is the highest goal scorer for the side with 36 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions. The forward scored back-to-back hattrick in his last two games.

However, on Monday evening, Al Nassr faced Al-Hilal in the all-important semi-final clash of the Saudi Cup. Ronaldo's team was trailing 2-0 when Cristiano Ronaldo lost his cool after he tried to grab the ball for a quick throw-in when Hilal's Ali Al-Bulaihi tried to block the forward and a fight with CR7 his cool and allowed the footballer on his neck. The footballer did not stop after elbowing, in a video it was seen that the footballer stamped on the feet of the player as well.

The action saw an outbreak of pushing and shoving between the players, with the opposition displeased with the challenge of the footballer. The referee showed a straight red card to the Portugal man who after receiving the card spunned around and seemed to punch the ref as well. After the red card incident, there might be an investigation into the behaviour of the player towards the referee as well and it will be interesting to see how many matches will the player be banned.

Here's the video

Will CR7 be banned for his actions?

Previously Ronaldo had already had a heated exchange of words with the ref after Al-Nassr had a goal disallowed with the game being goalless and was shown a yellow card for his argument with the match official. Sadio Mane pulled one back for the side in the added minutes of the match and they were eliminated from the tournament.

This is not the first time that the world-class footballer has been displeased with some decisions. He was also suspended for one match by Saudi football management after he appeared to make an obscene gesture during Al-Nassr's win over Al Shabab in February.
