Arsenal hosted Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals 1st leg at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners took the lead in the early minutes of the game, with the Bavarians coming back from behind in the first half of the game, with Serge Gnabry and Harry Kane scoring for the visitors. The game was mostly dominated by Mikel Arteta's side but they failed to find that one goal-scoring pass or get inside the box.

Saka and Martin Odegaard were exceptional last night as the two were the stars of Arsenal's draw. There was a lot of controversy with the refereeing of the match as there were some decisions made by the referee that went against both sides. The first penalty awarded to Bayern was the softest of touches by William Saliba on Leroy Sane as the winger fell inside the box with Kane converting from the spot kick.

Another bizarre incident happened in the 67th minute of the game, after Gunners goalkeeper David Raya played the ball across his six-yard box at a goal kick before centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes, without realising picked the ball in his hand and placed it in the six-yard box again to take the goal kick. Thomas Tuchel was shocked after Glenn Nyberg did not blow the whistle for the penalty and continued the game. Tuchel went furious after the controversial decision keeping in mind the magnitude of the game.

Another blunder from VAR?

In the dying minutes of the game again another incident happened, but this time the home side was the victim of a decision from the referee as he refused to give a spot-kick for Arteta's side after goalkeeper Manuel Neuer tripped Saka inside the box. The England forward was furious after the match and blasted at the official after the game. The VAR also declined to award a spot kick.

The game ended in a 2-2 draw, as the Bavarians will be happy after the draw, as they will have the home advantage in the 2nd leg of the last 8, which is scheduled on 18th April. Both sides will look for a winner in the 90 minutes to qualify for the semi-final.
