Lionel Messi discusses about his future
Lionel Messi recently opened up about his plans for life after retirement, expressing that he doesn’t envision becoming a coach, as he prioritizes other aspects of his life. At 37 years old, Messi is nearing the end of his illustrious career, which has solidified his status as one of the greatest football players of all time.
During a recent interview with journalist Fabrizio Romano, he reflected on his retirement plans and the direction he hopes to take once he steps away from the pitch.
Messi has expressed that coaching isn’t something he aspires to, but he remains open to exploring what the future holds for him. He has developed a deeper appreciation for his daily activities, focusing on enjoying each aspect of his career. Currently, his priorities revolve around playing, training, and having fun on the field.
"I wouldn't like to be a coach, but I'm still not sure what I'd like to do in the future. I value much more than before everything I do on a day-to-day basis, so I just think about playing, training and having fun."
On being asked whether he will play for the Argentine National Team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Goat said :
"The truth is that I don't know, I've been asked several times, especially in Argentina. I hope to have a good end of the season and then a good pre-season, something I didn't have last season because of all the travelling we did. From there I want to see what happens, to realise how I feel."
