Adriano, now 42, scored for both opposing teams as Flamengo Legends triumphed with a 4-3 victory. The event took place at the iconic Maracana stadium, where he received heartfelt support from adoring fans.

After 30 minutes of play, the game was paused to honour Adriano. The moment was made even more special as a video tribute featuring his late father, who passed away in 2004, was displayed on the big screen.

Adriano's father's AI voiced message

Using advanced AI technology, his father's voice delivered a heartfelt message that deeply moved the 48-cap star, bringing tears to his eyes. Adriano was joined on the field for this memorable farewell game by former Brazil teammates Romario, Dida, and Ze Roberto, as well as his son, Adrianinho, making it a touching occasion.

A crowd of around 21,000 gathered to honour Adriano, revealing a banner featuring his face just before the match began. His grandmother and mother were in attendance, with his grandmother even starting the game. Adriano, who retired from professional football in 2016 after successful stints at Inter Milan, Parma, and Flamengo, has embraced a flamboyant lifestyle since ending his playing career.

"It's a shame he couldn't be here, but I know he's happy with everything I learned from him" said Adriano. "Many people asked me to say goodbye. Although I stopped playing a few years ago, I needed this match to end my cycle. I owed it to everyone who supported me and still supports me." he added.
