Vinicius Junior, a winger from Brazil, apologised to the supporters after his country lost to Paraguay 0-1 during the FIFA World Cup qualifying match on September 11. Brazil's terrible record continued with this setback, which put them in a perilous position within the CONMEBOL standings. Vinicius apologised in the statement for the team's bad play and promised the supporters that he would work to raise his own game.

With only 10 points from eight games, Brazil, the five-time World Cup winners, are currently sixth in the rankings. Vinicius recognised the challenging circumstances facing his team. This puts them just above Venezuela by goal differential and behind Ecuador, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia, and Uruguay. Given that only the top six teams advance to the World Cup, Brazil's standing right now is concerning.

Vinicius Jr. spoke to Sportv after the International break as he said, "We apologise to the fans, who are always on our side...But this is a difficult time, we just want to improve... I know my potential, I know what I can do for the national team. Of course it's been a very difficult process, because when you don't have confidence, you don't get goals, you don't get assists and good performances."

The Brazil winger added, "We know the situation we're in, we want to get Brazil out of this situation at any cost, we all have to go home now and start thinking about what we can do to get back to playing well. We cannot come here, lose these points and play the way we did."

“Games in Europe are different” : Vinicius Jr.

In response to criticism of his play, Vinicius stated that although he has succeeded with Real Madrid, he is finding it difficult to repeat his achievements while playing for the national team. To satisfy expectations, he pledged to put in more effort.

The Real Madrid forward said, "It's completely different [than playing for Real Madrid]. Games in Europe are different, the ball gets from one side [of the pitch] to the other faster... We have to know how to adapt, so that everyone plays better, so that we can win games,"
