After scoring in Tuesday night's 5-1 UEFA Champions League victory over Sporting CP, Gabriel Magalhaes brought out Viktor Gyokeres' celebration. In Lisbon, Kai Havertz extended the visitors' lead in the 22nd minute after Gabriel Martinelli handed Mikel Arteta's team an early lead during the 7th minute.
By halftime, Declan Rice's superb corner was headed in by an open Gabriel, giving Arsenal a three-point lead. Similar to how Gyokeres does after he finds the net for Sporting, the Brazilian defender celebrates by locking his fingers and placing his hands in front of his eyes.
Gabriel's celebration left many perplexed, but it seems the Arsenal defender had been improving even after Sporting's triumph inside the Emirates Stadium in March of last year. In the UEFA Europa League round-of-16 match, Granit Xhaka had given Arsenal the lead in the second leg before Pedro Goncalves equalized resulting in extra time as well as a penalty shootout.
After that, Sporting won the shootout to eliminate Arsenal from the Europa League and guarantee their spot in the quarterfinals. Pedro Goncalves was seen imitating Xhaka's celebration against the backdrop of the traveling supporters at the Emirates Stadium during Sporting's post-shootout celebrations.

However, following Gabriel's goal just before halftime, Arteta's team continued their strong play, and Arsenal ended up claiming bragging rights on Tuesday night. Sporting's goal was clawed back at the start of the second half by Gonçalo Inacio, but Arsenal's superiority was evident when Bukayo Saka netted his team's fourth goal from a penalty. With eight minutes left, Leandro Trossard, who had entered as a substitute in the second half, scored from close range to give the Gunners a 5-1 triumph.
After the game, Viktor Gyokeres spoke to the media as he discussed the goal celebration used by Gabriel, earlier last night. He said, “Gabriel’s celebration? He’s welcome to steal it if he can’t create his own celebration. I didn’t know he did that, but it’s fun he likes my celebration”
