Arsenal and Chelsea will have received a strong transfer reminder now that Victor Osimhen was back to his best on the European scene. The striker was closely associated with the London teams while he was at Napoli, but interest waned due to the high asking price, with both Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko becoming the focus.

Osimhen was told to find a new club this past summer, but the Nigerian international was unable to do so prior to the window closing in the majority of European nations. Galatasaray was still permitted to trade with Turkish clubs, which were able to sign him on a loan for the remainder of the season.

Osimhen has contributed significantly to Galatasaray's ascent to the top of the Turkish league and their stellar start to the UEFA Europa League, even though he has only scored four goals since joining the team. Osimhen scored last Monday in the crucial derby match against Besiktas, and he has since maintained his scoring run.

Osimhen scored two goals in the first half to give his club a 3-1 lead going into halftime against Tottenham Hotspur, who were the visitors to RAMS Park. Osimhen scored his first goal when Radu Dragusin made a mistake, and he scored his second minutes afterwards after volleying home a cross from Dries Mertens.

“I am very happy at Galatasaray” : Victor Osimhen

After the game, Victor Osimhen offered an update regarding his future as he spoke to the media. He said, "I will not leave in January, I am at Galatasaray until the end of the season. I do not know what Galatasaray and Napoli are talking about afterwards, but if they come to me, we will talk.  Galatasaray is a nice club that I like very much. I am very happy at Galatasaray."

He inked a contract extension until 2027 when he left Naples for Turkey, which contains a break option that can be triggered in January as well as a fresh release clause estimated to be worth £66.6 million (€80 million). Osimhen might potentially go for half the amount Napoli is asking, compared to previous summers.
