UEFA Euro 2024: Spain announce provisional squad (Source- Twitter)
The UEFA Euro 2024 is just weeks away as the nations buliding up their side for the upcoming mega tournament, which is scheduled to take place in Germany. The domestic local leagues have ended with the respective clubs have secured the top positions and the UEFA Champions League spots for next season. After short break all the footballers will join their respective squads ahead of the mega event. Italy will love to defend their title in the upcoming event.
With the tournament nearing, Spain have announced their provisional squad for the side. The joint most successful side of the Euro have been searching for the fourth trophy, as they have not won since 2012. They have collapsed going forward in the knockouts, they failed in the 2022 World Cup after losing to Morocco in the RO16 match. In the 2020 Euro also they failed in the semi-finals against the defending champions.
However they have a very good mix of young and experienced side. Most of them are U-21 as they look to firepower with their pace and agility in the tournament. Real Madrid captain Nacho Fernandez and Dani Carvajal making a comeback to the side, however they have left out Lucas Vazquez with the wing back was amazing in the season.
They are placed in the group of death alongside Italy, Croatia and Albania. The group looks very competiting and it will be a difficult time for the manager to get past through and qualify directly to the knockouts this time however they have the chance of being the top two teams in the group stage and earn a direct qualification from the league stage. They will be the dark horse for the upcoming marquee tournament. Spain will face Croatia in their first game of the tournament ahead of that are due to play friendlies against Andorra and Northern Ireland.
