Trent Alexander-Arnold, the talented right-back for Liverpool and England, recently shared in an interview that Barcelona is his favourite team aside from Liverpool. Hailing from Merseyside, Alexander-Arnold has been a dedicated Liverpool fan since his youth and has progressed through the club's academy. His debut in 2017 marked the beginning of a remarkable journey, establishing him as one of the premier right-backs on the global stage.

During an interview with Alastair Campbell for British GQ, Liverpool player Alexander-Arnold disclosed his admiration for Barcelona, naming them as his second favourite team. He expressed his belief that Barcelona shares similar values and beliefs with Liverpool. Alexander-Arnold reminisced about watching Messi and the legendary Barcelona team featuring Iniesta, Xavi, Henry, and Eto'o during his formative years. Additionally, he mentioned a recent change of heart regarding Scottish football.

“I feel as though they’ve got kind of the same values and beliefs as Liverpool, they like to bring players through the academy. I grew up watching Messi and that special Barcelona team, with Iniesta, Xavi, Henry, Eto’o", says Alexander.

In the 2019 semi-final, Alexander-Arnold played a pivotal role in Liverpool's remarkable comeback, overturning a 3-0 deficit from the first leg to secure a 4-0 victory against Barcelona at Anfield. This result propelled Liverpool to the final in Madrid, where they faced off against Spurs.

He raised the trophy alongside his fellow Liverpool teammates, marking his inaugural major achievement. “Looking at it now there is only the league that is not really in our hands,” he said speaking to talkSPORT last month.

“All the other cup competitions we are in we believe we can win them or beat everyone on our day if we get it right", he further added. Subsequently, he clinched the Premier League in 2020 and secured the League Cup just last month. He maintains the belief that no obstacles are preventing Liverpool from attaining further victories in the current season.
