After spending excessively and mostly without a plan for the last ten years without a great deal of achievement, the Red Devils have arrived in an exciting new era. Apart from the well-reported marginal advantages, United wants to change the way they run their football department, and using market strategies will undoubtedly play a part in that.

After considering their possibilities at right-back in January, United has decided that adding a left-back is more crucial in light of Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw's injury problems this season. Meanwhile, right-sided players Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka seem to be playing well lately. Let’s take a look at a few players that Manchester United may target in the upcoming summer transfer window ahead of the new English Premier League season.

Here are the potential signings for Manchester United ahead of next season

With an abundance of EFL experience for his age, the 21-year-old has already been linked to Chelsea among other teams. Edwards has made 134 starts for Peterborough so far this season, and he has started every League One match. Edwards has already spent the most of a full season in the Championship, where Posh is fighting to regain, and his reputation is just growing.

Edwards is one of the best centre halves in the division as a right-footed, right-sided England Under-20 international. Edwards would be an exciting addition to United at this point in his career after the club made a significant investment to try and address their defensive issues, including signing Maguire, another EFL graduate.

2) Leny Yoro

Manchester United is interested in signing Leny Yoro, an 18-year-old centre back from Lille. This summer, after the Frenchman informed his club that he wants a fresh challenge, the defender has additionally been linked to Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Chelsea. Although the 18-year-old defender has been touted as one of Europe's best prospects, the Reds may decide to wait at least another season to make a bid for him.

With Yoro on the field, Lille has maintained an amazing 14 clean sheets in Ligue 1. The young player, born in 2005, has also started four matches during the Conference League, where Lille are facing Aston Villa in this month's quarterfinals.

Bard is an offensive left-sided alternative who has performed well in Ligue 1 this year and is vying for his first France call-up in time for this summer's Euro 2024. He could be a great signing for the team with the continued injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia this season.
