Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City side were rocked with the news season that one of their star players wants to leave the club. The player in question is the Argentine star Julian Alvarez who has rejected a new deal put him forward by the club. The 24-year-old has been with the club since 2022 after having signed on from River Plate.

In 2022, Manchester City signed him for 14 Million Pounds with his deal set to end in 2027. The club had come up with a new deal which would see him extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium which the Argentine has declined. So far Julian Alvarez has played 67 games and scored 20 goals for his side.

It is understood that Alvarez wants to leave the club because Erling Haaland is the starting striker. The Norwegian has been a prolific scorer for City ever since he signed on from Borussia Dortmund.

Julian Alvarez makes ‘Logical’ request to current club

According to reports, star striker Julian Alvarez has asked his current club Manchester City to put a ‘Logical’ price tag on his head. The 24-year-old is afraid that a mammoth fee could put off suitors and he could be seeing his dreams of a move away from Etihad end in agony.

There are reports that Chelsea could be in the mix to sign the striker. There are also rumours that Paris Saint Germain and Atletico Madrid also have expressed their interest in signing the young striker who wants more game time as a starter and not to play second fiddle.

Meanwhile, reports coming out of England suggest that Manchester City could be interested in signing Spanish winger Dani Olmo. The youngster has been impressing everyone with his dazzling displays and helped his side beat France as he scored the game-winner.

The move comes to light after certain sections of the media noted that Manchester United could be keen on signing Dani Olmo. The Red Devils have already signed Joshua Zirkzee and are close to signing long-term target Matthijs De Ligt. If Olmo to United rumor has any weight to it then we could see two Manchester giants battle it out for the young wing wizard.
