Bayern Munich, among other matters, had begun hunting for left-backs after Alphonso Davies was rumoured to be joining Real Madrid. Although Los Blancos' interest has cooled, the team is still looking for a successor for the Canadian. They spent time looking at AC Milan's Theo Hernández, and the Bavarians have made a huge breakthrough.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the 26-year-old wing-back has seemingly agreed to transfer to Munich in the summer. That would imply that Davies may have decided to leave, whether to Real Madrid or somewhere. It is dependent on the condition of Ferland Mendy, who Madrid prefers to extend rather than sign Davies.

If Theo's move to Munich goes through, he is going to follow in the footsteps of his older brother Lucas and play for Bayern. Lucas is currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain following spending four years alongside the German powerhouse.

With an alternative in place, it is likely that the Bavarians will be more willing to negotiate Davies' departure, though the negotiations may be hampered by the disparity between what Bayern wants for the Canadian and what Madrid can give. The Bundesliga heavyweights would like to pay roughly 70 million euros, while Madrid would be looking at 45 to 50 million euros, given that Alphonso's contract expires next summer.

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel comments on his future

Thomas Tuchel has been named as one of the managers connected with a transfer to Old Trafford in the coming months, as the German is leaving Bayern Munich at the conclusion of the season. Earlier in the week, it was announced that Tuchel had expressed an interest in joining United, which was suggested as a possibility as questions about Ten Hag grew.

Currently, the former Chelsea FC manager recently spoke out on his possible future working for the German giants, revealing that a U-turn may not be on the cards, despite reports indicating that he could still remain in Munich.

The German manager said, “Since we agreed to part ways, Bayern has been looking intensively for a new coach – I’m guessing even before our conversation. That’s bad motivation to then say: ah, let’s do it again with you. Nah. From my point of view, that’s clear.”
