Despite Vinicius Junior and manager Carlo Ancelotti’s clear emphasis on the Brazilian's desire to remain at Real Madrid, interest from Saudi Arabia continues to be a topic of discussion.
The Saudi Arabian interest in Vinicius was first made known last summer, and following meetings between his camp and Saudi representatives in August, additional conversations were held in December.
Earlier, Vinicius had asserted that he is happy at Real Madrid and is determined to continue making history with the club. Ancelotti, too, has confirmed this sentiment, revealing that he received direct communication from Vinicius expressing his desire to remain at the club. The 24-year-old is under contract until 2027; while he postponed contract discussions with Los Blancos in September, he is expected to engage in negotiations for a new deal this summer.
Saudi Pro League club to place a mammoth deal
Vinicius’ future contract rumours are making headlines, with Al-Ahli emerging as the frontrunner determined sa to secure his services. They are prepared to present Real Madrid with a staggering offer of around €300 million. In return, Vinicius is set to earn €200 million per year over a five-year contract. This would mark a groundbreaking moment in football, creating the first €1 billion contract. The total cost of this operation would reach €1.3 billion, with Vinicius positioned as an ambassador for Saudi football.
Real Madrid has consistently expressed their desire to retain Vinicius for the long term, indicating that any interest from Saudi Arabia would necessitate honouring his €1 billion release clause. However, according to Diario AS, there is a nuanced aspect to this position. Should Vinicius express a desire to leave the club, Real Madrid would be open to discussions with Saudi Arabia to explore potential options.
