The Dutchman had been full of praise for the 22-year-old Ivory Coast international, who finished with five shots in total and put on an incredible display to lead United to their second victory in three games since Van Nistelrooy stepped over after Erik ten Hag was fired.

Ruud van Nistelrooy spoke to TNT Sports after the game against PAOK as he said, "He made a difference today, because of his goals but he was very sharp. Well done to him, good game. Positionally we weren't good in the first half. We were much better at that in the second half. He has been incredible in training, he always trains well and is asking me to do more."

The former PSV head coach said that, “Every day after training he comes to me and he wants to do extra finishing, extra crossing, extra one-vs-ones, extra how can I improve my shot, how can I improve my heading, etc. etc. etc.”

“He’s being assessed now” : Ruud van Nistelrooy on Amad’s injury

After the attacker was forced off due to injury against PAOK, Ruud van Nistelrooy remains optimistic that Amad Diallo is going to be ready for his final match as interim manager of Manchester United. After 81 minutes, Amad was ejected and clutched his foot while United's medical team attended to him, raising concerns.

In encouraging signals, Amad came to the field barefoot at full time to applaud the supporters and do an on-field chat with TNT Sports after Mason Mount took his place. Before Sunday's match against Leicester City, Amad will receive additional evaluation, however van Nistelrooy is optimistic his young player will be fit to play this weekend.  Van Nistelrooy said, “He had to come off, unfortunately. He’s being assessed now and I hope he will be available for Sunday but we have to wait and see.”
