In an exciting Saudi Pro League match on November 22, 2024, Al-Qadisiyah achieved a notable 2-1 victory over Al-Nassr at Al-Awwal Park.

The match began with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring in the thirty-second minute, capitalizing on a defensive error. However, Al-Qadisiyah quickly responded, levelling the score just five minutes later with a goal from Julián Quiñones. The turning point came in the 50th minute when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a decisive header, securing the win for Al-Qadisiyah.

Al Nassr’s disappointing 2-1 loss to Al Qadsiah at home on Friday effectively ended Cristiano Ronaldo’s chances of securing his first championship since joining the Saudi Arabian club.

Ronaldo's heroics couldn't save Al-Nassr against Al-Qadisiyah at Awwal Park

Ronaldo seized the opportunity created by a goalkeeper's blunder, finishing from close range to give Al Nassr an early lead in the 32nd minute. As he approaches 40 in February 2025, the Portuguese legend is leaving no stone unturned in his pursuit of excellence, consistently outperforming many younger, talented players despite being in the twilight of his career.

Five minutes later, Julián Quiñones made his mark by equalising for Al Qadsiah, expertly controlling a high cross with his chest and confidently finding the back of the net. Al Nassr struggled to convert their possession into clear scoring opportunities, failing to capitalize on the presence of their captain.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the former Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund star, with a precise first-time finish on a cross from Quiñones, handed the hosts the lead. Despite Al Nassr's determined efforts to level the match, they repeatedly fell short against Koen Casteels, unable to penetrate the defence.

Al Nassr sits at third place in the Saudi Pro League. They are just six points behind reigning champions, Al Hilal. Meanwhile, Al Qadsiah has made impressive strides, securing their place at fifth with a recent victory.
